Le domaine René Bouvier est une maison familiale créée en 1910 par le grand-père de Bernard Bouvier, actuel maître à bord avec son épouse. L’exploitation compte 13 hectares en pinot noir et 4 en chardonnay pour un total de 18 appellations en Bourgogne, Côtes-de-Nuits-Villages, Fixin, et Gevrey-Chambertin, dont des Premiers et Grands Crus.

Le vignoble est conduit en agriculture biologique (perdue en 2016 et de nouveau en cours d’agrément) avec travail des sols, ébourgeonnage, vendanges en vert, récolte et tris manuels. En 2006, le domaine a inauguré une nouvelle cuverie de 1 200 m², le soin apporté aux vinifications et aux élevages faisant de lui une valeur sûre de la Bourgogne.

Quand on demande à Bernard Bouvier ce qu’est un bon vin, il répond que "c’est un vin qui fait saliver, qui donne envie de finir la bouteille qu’on a débouché". Bien loin du marketing, il préfère évoquer l’expression des millésimes et des terroirs, et rejette une certaine uniformisation des vins. Cette recherche de qualité associée au respect du terroir définit la touche Bouvier : des vins ronds et puissants aux tanins parfaitement domptés.

Le Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Fontenys 2011 du domaine René Bouvier est issu d'une parcelle de 40 ares de vignes âgées de 45 ans en moyenne qui sont conduites en agriculture biologique. Le vignoble est implanté sur un terroir complexe, constitué de sols riches en pierres anguleuses et en limons et galets, puis de sous-sols de calcaire, de limons et de cailloutis. Le nez de cette cuvée nous révèle d'intenses notes de cassis et d'épices. La bouche est ample et complexe sur tannins qui sont parfaitement fondus. La finale est persistante et intense sur des arômes de cassis.
